Only two more chances to take part in projects WET and WILD
There are two more opportunities this year for educators to participate in Projects WET and WILD, where you can learn how to teach water and wildlife concepts in the same lessons.
June 14: Project WET and Project WILD Aquatic Combo Workshop, Morgan County Administration Building, Martinsville. 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. To register, contact the Morgan County Soil and Water Conservation District office at (765) 349-2060 by June 7. There is no charge for this workshop.
July 16: Project WET and Project WILD Aquatic Combo Workshop, Indiana Dunes State Park Nature Center, Chesterton. 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. To register, contact the Indiana Dunes State Park Nature Center at (219) 926-1390 by July 7. There is no charge for this workshop.
This workshop provides an in-depth look at water and its physical properties, aquatic habitats, the wildlife that lives in and around the water, and the role each of us plays in conserving and protecting this precious resource.
The Project WET program facilitates and promotes the awareness, appreciation, knowledge and stewardship of water resources through the development and dissemination of classroom-ready teaching aides.
Project WILD Aquatic has a similar format but focuses on basic aquatic wildlife ecology concepts and wildlife stewardship.
Upon completion, participants will receive the Project WET and Project WILD Aquatic curriculum guides.
