Astronomy star party at Patoka Lake, June 25
WHEN: Saturday, June 25
1-10 p.m. (EDT)
WHERE: Patoka Lake Beach
DNR, Newton Stewart State Recreation Area
Wickliffe, IN
WHAT: Enjoy a special presentation by members of the Louisville and Evansville Astronomical Societies and the Stonebelt Stargazers of Bedford, IN as they share their knowledge of the sky.
There will be kids and family activities. On hand will be telescopes to view the sun during the day, as well as 20 or more telescopes provided by the societies for stargazing at night.
The evening astronomy program will begin around 8:30 p.m. Watch the sun go down and see Venus and other attractions light up the sky during this annual event.
The entrance fee of $5 per vehicle for Indiana residents and $7 for out-of-state visitors is required for the Newton Stewart State Recreation Area.
