Winter Wonderland Weekend at Patoka Lake, July 22-24
WHEN: July 22-24
10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
WHERE: Patoka Lake Visitor Center
DNR Patoka Reservoir
Enjoy a "Christmas in July "themed event at Patoka Lake Visitor Center on Friday, July 22 through Sunday, July 24. Winter Wonderland Weekend will feature a Christmas tree in the visitor center that participants can help decorate with their holiday wish list items on paper chains.
From 10 a.m. until noon each day come to the Winter Craft Workshop and join in making ornaments and holiday decorations for only $1 to $2 each. There are many crafts to choose from, such as, jingle bell wreaths, winter bird feeders and houses, picture frame ornaments, and many more.
At 2 p.m. each day join the naturalists at the beach for a "snowball fight" (beach towels are needed), winter relay races, and to discover where animals go during the cold months of the year.
The entrance fee of $5 per vehicle for Indiana residents ($7 out-of-state) is required for the Newton Stewart State Recreation Area, Patoka Reservoir, located north of Wickliffe, Highway 164.
