Martinsville Indiana, Fishing Report August 04, 2011
Fishing in area pits and ponds has slowed down. Some nice channel catfish being taken at night using night crawlers, cut bait, and shrimp. Bluegill fishing has slowed, but they are still biting early mornings. Try Tight lining on bottom with red worms, night crawlers, and crickets in 15 to 20 feet deep water. Bass are being taken at night on plastic's and top-water baits. The night bite has slowed in many of the area gravel pits and ponds. Fish are moving deeper with hot weather. There seems to be a very short window once in the mornings around 5:30 am, and again in the late evenings at dusk when fish seem to be very active.
Patton Lake fishing report: Fishing is poor. Cat fishing is poor. Some big carp being caught below the spillway.
Painted Hills Lakes fishing report: The bluegill bite has slowed way down. Channel catfish are hitting at night on nightcrawlers and cut bait, but the bite is hit and miss. A few bass being caught on plastic's at night. Top-waters early mornings. Mostly dinks.
Foxcliff lakes fishing report: Channel catfish are hitting at night. A few bass being caught early mornings on top-waters and buzz-baits.
White river fishing report: Anglers who are fishing the river are reporting a few small channel cats. Flathead cat fishing has slowed down just a little bit. I did see one caught that was 33.2 caught from below the old bridge in Paragon. Carp fishing is fair. Smallmouth bass fishing is fair.
BEWARE: 39 & 67 at the IPL Dam. It is not a good place to take a family. It is not a safe area to fish alone. Indiana DNR and the Morgan County Sheriffs Department are aware of this. If you are there and see anyone poaching please call the Morgan County Sheriff. 1-765-342-5554
Cherry lake, Lazy lake (Lost lake), and Bryant's Creek lake in the Morgan Monroe State Forest: Don't waste your time.
Lake Edgewood fishing report: Anglers report the bite has slowed. Bass are hitting early mornings and late evenings at dusk. Channel cats are hitting at night, Try cut bait, nightcrawlers, and chicken livers. A couple decent flatheads caught off docks.
Spring Lake fishing report: Poor
Shireman Estates lakes fishing report. Poor
The Martinsville Indiana city park fishing report: The bite is poor. Fish have moved deep.
Hubbard's pay lakes near Waverly: Best time to fish is at night. The bite has slowed. Call before going. I did get a report that they have closed to daytime fishing due to the heat.
That's it for this week. Good Fishing Everyone!! Have a great weekend, and get out and do something fun. Head on out to the Morgan County Fair. Demolition derby is this Friday and Saturday nights.
