Indiana Fishing Report 08/12/2011
Raccoon Lake fishing report : Fishing is fair with some crappie being taken. Crappie are being caught in about 20 feet deep water. A few catfish hitting at night. Best bit is after midnight
Greene-Sullivan State Forest Lakes: Some nice channel cats being taken at night. Bass are being caught early mornings. Bluegill are being caught in coves.
Driftwood State Fishing Area: Plover Pit: All fishing is poor. Water is super clear. Bass fishing is good for about 15 to 30 minutes in the late evening, night fishing has slowed, but the bite picks back up around 5:30 am and will last for 30 to 45 minutes. Then they shut back down for the rest of the day. Sugar Creek near Atterbury is giving up some nice smallmouth.
OHIO RIVER fishing report : Channel catfish and flathead are being caught below the dam tailwaters using shad and skipjack fished tight on the bottom. Catfish anglers are catching channel catfish on cut baits as well as chicken liver and night crawlers fished tight on the bottom. Some larger fish have been caught. Overall, fishing pressure has been light due to the hot weather conditions.
Monroe reservoir fishing report : A few small crappie being caught around docks. Bigger crappie are in the main lake near structure in 12 to 20 feet deep water. Channel cats and carp are most active at night. A few nice channel cats being caught. A few flatheads being caught, but nothing big.
White river fishing report : Some smallmouth bass being taken between Indianapolis and Martinsville. A few nice flatheads and channel catfish being caught at night. The flathead bite has slowed just a tad.
Farm Ponds and pits: Bluegill are on the bite soon as the sun pops up, but the bite slows down about 10:00 am. Bass are being caught on plastic's. Crappie are 7 to 15 feet deep and around structure.
Wabash River fishing report : A few blue catfish being caught on cut skipjack and live bait. A few flatheads on live bait. Asian carp are bad.
Patoka lake fishing report : Crappie reported in 12 to 20 feet deep water. Fish are being caught of jigs tipped with minnows and bee moth. Night fishing has been fair for channel catfish. Nightcrawlers and cut bait seem to be best baits.
Cagles Mill Lake (Lieber SRA), Cataract fishing report : Lots and lots of dink crappie in around 16 feet deep water. Some good catfish being caught at night on shad guts and cut bait..
