Indiana Fishing Report ** 09/9/2011 ** The Fishing Report.
Sugar Creek: Fished Sugar Creek by Crawfordsville. Had a great time !! Smallmouth were hitting.
Atterbury Fish & Wildlife area and Driftwood State Fishing Area: Some skillet size channel cats coming out of Atterbury. Some nice bluegill, rock bass, and carp being taken. Fishing at Driftwood has been slow with only small fish being caught. No muskie reports.
Fished Dugger Unit Sunday afternoon. Fishing was pretty slow for gills but found some crappie right before dark. Missed a bunch and brought home a few.
Farm ponds and pits: With the cooler water temperatures the farm pond fishing has been steadily improving. The bite has been good. Bass, crappie, bluegill, and catfish are being caught.
White River: Some good smallmouth being taken from Strawtown to Worthington. The public access point near Strawtown has been a hotspot this last week with lots of nice fish being taken on tube jigs. Carp fishing is good. Lot's of small channel catfish being caught. A few dink flatheads between 20 to 30 pounds being taken on live baits. The big flatheads still remain elusive this year. Lots of rough fish and gar being taken on nightcrawlers.
Lake Lemon in Brown county has a good bite for just about everything. Some very big carp being caught from inside Riddle Point Park.
Clay City Strip Pits: Got to fish the pits for about an hour today, plenty of bass and gills eager to bite on about anything, especially on flies. I think they were excited to see the cooler weather too! All fish released.
Ohio River Fishing Report: Anglers are reporting steady fishing, with catches of gar, cat fish, a few white bass. Daylight hours until dusk have been producing good numbers but early evening until dawn have been good for cat fish. Try chicken liver, cut shad.
