Martinsville Fishing Report.
In general fishing has slowed with the hot weather.
Be very careful when burning trash, campfires, or even grilling out. We have already had a few grass fires, and it looks only like it's going to get worse. Water levels everywhere are dropping and the rivers and lakes are really low. Don't be throwing cigarette butts out your windows !!
Weather guy on TV say's maybe
severe storms later today, so
fishing patterns may change if we
get rain.
Farm Pond and pit fishing report
Plastic baits fished deep are catching bass. The morning bite has been good for bluegill and some crappie. Catfishing is reported to be fair, and the best bite for catfish is at night. With the little bit of rain we had should get the catfish moving around. Try creek chubs and minnows fished on bottom. Fishing has slowed down and a few ponds are having some fish kills due to low oxygen levels.
Martinsville City Park fishing report
Lots of dink bluegill being caught. They are the perfect size to use for flathead bait. A few small bass being caught. Flatheads hitting on live bait. Fish the deeper part of the pond early mornings and late evenings. Park opens 6:00 am and close's at 10:00 pm.
Hubbard's Pay Lake fishing report
Fishing has slowed somewhat at Hubbards pay lakes, but a good bite for carp, channel cats, and blue catfish remains. Pond #3 has been having a very good bite. Carp and catfish both. Best bites still early morning, but the night bites on too !!
White River fishing report:
Not much going on at the river. Waters down so low you can walk along the banks for several miles staying below the high water line. Treasure hunters are finding a few artifacts and arrowheads. Gold panners are exploring ground they have never been able to get to before. All fishing is poor, with the exception of carp and buffalo.
White River at State road 67 near the IPL dam
Nothing new to report from here. Seems like this place never changes. I think DNR needs to get out there and check some of these people !
This place is nasty ! Lot's of trash in this area that anglers are leaving behind. DNR needs to get back to this spot and take down some of the illegal activities that go on here.
Patton Lake fishing report
Water levels have dropped so much that many people cannot get boats out into the lake. No report this week. Anglers just cannot get out, or are staying inside with the air conditioners. Fishing is slow.
Painted Hills fishing report
Not much going on. Fishing has slowed. A few bass and bluegill being caught early mornings.
