The maximum grant award of $250 each was awarded to teachers Christine Bullock, Jody Nix and Samantha Hayes of Chesterton Middle School, and Diane Bozovich from Westville Elementary School. This grant program, funded by the Friends of Indiana Dunes, Inc., is designed to distribute funds to public, private, parochial or home-school educators interested in taking students on field trips to the Indiana Dunes State Park. Field trips can engage students in learning about Indiana Dunes' fish, forest, wildlife and natural habitats, and their conservation. These learning experiences should support science and other academic concepts being taught in the classroom. Grant funds give educators the financial means to extend and strengthen student learning experiences outside the classroom. For more information about this grant program or any other programs at the state park, call (219) 926-1390. « Back to News Release List Link to this event: www.in.gov/portal/news_events/56288.htm Indiana Dunes State Park field trip grants awarded Aug 09, 2010 content_id:DD77C573B10148D3B3F2AA14F08884E5; type:press; agency:DNR; showOnHomepage:; sortDate:Aug 09, 2010; filterDate:201008; isBanner:no; agencyDivision:DNR;08 - August;2010;Press Release;Show on Home
