Raccoon SRA hosts fireworks display, Sept. 4
Raccoon State Recreation Area will stage its annual fireworks display on Saturday, Sept. 4.
Start by enjoying one last day of fun at the beach. Events kick off at noon with games and contests in the beach area. At 6 p.m. a Karaoke stage will be set up near the beach.
The day concludes with fireworks at dusk, co-sponsored by Raccoon SRA, Bellmore Volunteer Fire Department and the Raccoon Lake/Union Township Property Owners Association.
The cost of the fireworks is supported solely by donations from the community and park visitors. Anyone interested in helping defray costs may call property manager Mike Clingerman or interpretive naturalist Sam Arthur at (765) 344-1412.
Raccoon SRA is on U.S. Hwy. 36 in Parke and Putnam counties in west central Indiana, 50 miles west of Indianapolis and 35 miles northeast of Terre Haute.
