For immediate release: Aug 24, 2010 Posted by: [ISP] Contact: Sergeant Noel Houze Phone: (812) 689-5000 OR (800) 566-6704 Email: nhouze@isp.in.gov Indiana State Police Request Help from the Public Ripley County: Sometime during the weekend of August 14 and 15 unknown person(s) stole numerous highway signs at and near the intersection of S.R. 229 and S.R. 48 in Ripley County. A total of 24 signs were stolen from the area. Included were 17 signs belonging to the Indiana Department of Transportation and included speed limit signs, arrow signs, detour signs, signs indicating upcoming county road intersections, and a green "Batesville" sign. Also stolen were two county road signs belonging to the Ripley County Highway Department, and five construction signs consisting of "road closed" signs, detour, etc. Those signs are the property of Road Safe Traffic Systems. Anyone who may have information that might lead to the suspect(s) is requested to contact Master Trooper Ben Bastin at the Indiana State Police Post in Versailles at 812-689-5000 or 800-566-6704.
