"Return to the '40s" dinner and swing dance at Fort Harrison SP, Nov. 13
Join the Barton Rogers Big Band for an evening of big-band music, swing dancing, and dinner at the historic Fort Harrison State Park Inn on Saturday, November 13 beginning at 6p. The event is co-hosted by Fort Harrison State Park, Fort Harrison State Park Inn, the Indianapolis Symphonic Band, and the Museum of 20th Century Warfare.
This dinner-dance will be held in the main lodge of the Fort Harrison State Park Inn. The doors open at 5pm, with a cash bar available before the meal. Dinner will be served from 6 to 8pm, with the band performing from 8 to 10 pm. Dress is semi-formal or WWII era men's and woman's fashions, including military uniforms. Seating is open.
The cost for the dinner-dance is $30 a person, $50 a couple. Reservations are recommended, but tickets may be purchased at the door. There is a room, dinner and dance package available through the Fort Harrison State Park Inn for the evening for $125 per couple.
Dinner for the dance is a four-course meal to include porridge, salad, an entree, and dessert.
The Return to the 40's Dinner-Dance is being held in the historic Fort Harrison State Park Inn. The Inn was originally the Fort Harrison Army Infirmary through WWI and WWII, later turned into the Post Headquarters up until the Fort was deactivated in 1995. The Fort Harrison State Park Inn is located at 5830 North Post Road, Indianapolis.
